Drosophila hydei— These larger, 'meatier' flies are perfect for pets that prefer bigger prey. While they take a bit longer to emerge—around 21 days—their size makes them ideal for certain species such as large obligates. However, be cautious of their "boom and bust" cycle, which can lead to crashes and grain mite infestations if not monitored carefully.
